Who was asked matters.

LV means likely voters; RV means registered voters. Those groups differ. Pollsters also use different turnout screens, weighting, and interview modes, so movement between surveys may reflect methodology.

Allow for uncertainty.

Reported margins of error and credibility intervals describe a survey’s uncertainty; they are not the margin of error for the difference between candidates. Sampling uncertainty is only one possible source of polling error.

Read the original context.

Figures retain each source’s published precision. Undecided and other responses are not redistributed. Rounded percentages may not total 100%. Emerson reports a credibility interval, distinguished in the table.

Selection: ten public reports for the Sand–Lahn matchup, retaining the eight reports in the September 17 edition and adding Marist ↗ and co/efficient ↗ after checking their original reports on September 28. Discovery included 270toWin and Call the Map. Wedgewood and Siena retain the source limitations noted above. Different voter subsets from the same survey are not counted separately. Primary polls and other candidate matchups are excluded. No average, forecast, or win probability is calculated.
